Job Purpose: Responsible for tactical execution of Smiths Interconnect's Health, Safety, Environment and Security processes for the site.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities: - Serve as an HSE & Security technical expert and partner with Site HSE & Security Manager and other key site resources to coordinate and conduct routine HSES activities across the site within the criteria and time frames identified in internal and external HSES requirements and implement best practices. - Evaluate hazards in an industrial setting and perform risk assessments. - Manage adherence and continuous improvement of processes in accordance with /ISO45001 and ISO14001. - Implement safety policies and procedures; identify training needsfor team and line employees, plan and conduct training; coach and train line employees on new HSE & Security processes. - Identify opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives. - Drive activities to meet energy usage and water reduction targets and minimize generation of waste. - Input Site monthly reporting metrics in HSE database. Conduct and/or assist in HSE & Security related audits, incident investigation and trend analysis. - Lead and/or coordinate HSE & Security related inspections including hazardous and special waste inspections. - May perform other duties and responsibilities related to HSE&S as assigned by the HSE&S ManagerThe Individual- Basic understanding of safety, health and environment principles, concepts and standards - Knowledge of Incident Investigation Procedures: reporting of an occupational injury/illness, near miss, or property damage incident, incident investigations, root cause analysis and effective corrective action development. - Knowledge of Global Harmonization, SDS (Safety Data Sheets), chemical labeling requirements, spill reporting, control methods, spill prevention, and chemical exposure. - Lean/Six Sigma experience (preferred). - Internal auditor certificate for ISO 14000 and ISO 45001 (preferred) Competencies: - Strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills required - Accuracy, organization and ability to manage multiple priorities - Stakeholder impact: Effectively build relationships both internally and externally - Ability to demonstrate leadership ability and obtain results through others. - Ability to perform problem analysis and resolution.
