HW Product and Mechanical EngineerAs a HW Product and Mechanical Engineer, you will create high quality and cost-effective mechanical HW solutions including PCBs, sockets, handler kits, interface boards, docking solutions, and similar for new products and enablement solutions, aimed at improving quality and yield performance of existing production solutions.
Responsibilities: Mechanical: Develop solutions suggested by team members and propose new solutions.Utilize 3D CAD (Solidworks) to provide all necessary drawings, critical function dimensions, and 3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.Provide 3D models for use in thermal simulations.Participate in cross-functional team meetings to resolve production quality issues.Product: Possess detailed knowledge of an Aras & ERP system.Have comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control processes.Provide technical support via direct communication to internal customers and contract manufacturers.Assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems as required.Demonstrate strong attention to detail.Interact with Contract Manufacturers (CM) to resolve component procurement issues and review production costs.Experience: Relevant for the internship, including knowledge of PCBs, sockets, test equipment, and various IC package solutions. Familiarity with static and thermal simulation, GD&T understanding, tight tolerance control, and 3D printing.
Tooling: Proficiency in Solidworks, Solidworks Simulation, Circuitworks, Cadence/Allegro, Simulation/Modeling, Flotherm, Six Sigma methods, and familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Allegro Cadence, CADCAM350, and GC-Prevue.
The NXP Intern will gain: Skills in leadership, cross-functional team dynamics, data analytics, and presentation. Experience working with internal customers and vendors.
