We are now seeking a motivated and result-driven talent to join our Scent division as Scent Design Manager for the Fine Fragrance category. As Scent Design Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing Product development and Innovation strategies that lead to consumer-relevant fragrance solutions that win in the marketplace. You will collaborate across functions and levels to contribute creatively to the development and introduction of new fragrance themes, technologies, consumer solutions, ideas, and new development processes. You will manage the project resources to meet deadlines and investment parameters.
The candidate will directly report to the Scent Design Leader and will be based at the Scent Creative Center in Mexico City, Mexico.
Key Responsibilities Manage Go-To-Market Projects, identifying innovative fragrance directions and driving overall success.Manage the execution of the olfactive strategy by providing creative directions and olfactive guidance to perfumers to stimulate creative exploration and differentiation.Maintain good overview on the relationship between creative process, decisions, cost, product performance, and constraints in developing fragrances.Understand the economics of raw materials as they impact cost guidelines and price sensitivity of client's briefs/demands.Connect market, customer, and consumer needs to identify, develop and/or recommend competitive product solutions to drive business results.Communicate effectively about fragrances including olfactive rationale for fragrance submissions in relation to trends, brands, and competitive analysis.Constantly listen to the voice of the customer and deliver above expectations.Consistently drive process, discipline, and effective execution to bring the desired speed to market.Monitor results and have the agility to change the course of a project when needed.Develop creative strategies according to Holistic Scent Design principles.Partner with internal customers/stakeholders to establish fragrance strategies that drive the overall success of a project which fulfill customers' expectations and ensure profitability.Establish and maintain effective relationships with (internal) stakeholders and gain their trust and respect.Communicate and maintain awareness on market developments and competitive insights and actively share knowledge with other parts of the organization.Have a thorough understanding of the process on bank management, when to leverage and how to ensure efficiency through strong olfactive themes development and recommendation.Required Skills Excellent olfactive expertise and olfactive communication skills which supports the overall creative process – discriminate, describe (association) and odor memory (Olfactive assessment is part of the selection process).Strong project management skills, disciplined and organized.Solid understanding of market/consumer trends and consumer behaviors/preferences (US market expertise is a plus).Ability to effectively identify potential fragrance or technology solutions based on brand fit and on market relevance.Fragrance ingredient and technology understanding to facilitate communication with technical teams and perfumers.Basic technical understanding of Fine Fragrance formulations and assess stability risks.Strong agility, able to deliver in a fast-changing environment and under pressure.Commercial mindset, bottom line oriented.Good influencing skills and customer relationship management skills.Team player, ability to motivate others towards a common goal to achieve results.Open-minded and willing to embrace diversity.Fluent in English.Required Experience Master's or bachelor's degree in Perfumery, Science, Chemistry, Consumer Science, Product Research or any other relevant discipline.2-3 years of Fragrance Industry and evaluation experience.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
