Medical device company is looking for:
**Import Export Assistant**
Assistance in activities related to imports and exports, as well as customs compliance. Support in coordination of land, sea and air transportation.
**Responsibilities**
- Generate import and export records: compare identification information and part numbers, weight or measure new items to be registered.
- Monitors and reviews inventories temporality, submits permit extensions as required with the support of the import/export department to the Mexican authorities such as (COFEPRIS/SEMARNAT etc.)
- Able to identify differences in the type of product and packaging.
- Coordinate transportation for imports and exports of the company in a timely manner.
- Keep an accurate report of imported raw materials vs. physical inventory in the plant
- Follow up on the creation of purchase orders and coordinate air, sea, or land shipments and keep a log of shipment status from port to port.
- Work with purchasing and engineering for the creation and classification of new part numbers as well as changes to the BOM's that result from manufacturing changes.
- Audit broker documentation to ensure the proper HTC code is being used.
- Keep record of Temporary Imported (To Mexico) Assets, label and release new incoming items.
- Support Accounting with any other task related to Asset management (info request, log sharing, etc.)
- Support Purchasing related activities to ensure the optimal means of transportation are being used.
- Coordinate with Planning the expedite of items if necessary.
- Support R&D with first time Exports to Mexico (proper use, ID, HTC code, Compliance and Permits).
- Special projects, as needed.
**Requirements**:
- Associate degree in import and export or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in import/export, compliance department and coordination of shipments.
- Experience with processing Federal Express - Domestic and International shipments.
- Trustworthy, honest, motivated and team player.
- Good communication skills, precise and detail oriented.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide);
- Computer literacy with the use of Microsoft Office. Experience with an inventory management systems, a plus.
- Ability to read and understand instructions to perform the job, participate in product training and other available resources to improve product knowledge.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must be proficient in the English language. This position requires the employee to be able to convey detailed information in English, both orally and in writing.
