**PRIMARY DUTIES**:
- Manages I/E Operations functions and personnel. This team performs the following tasks:
- Work with MX broker and Global Trade Compliance teams to classify raw materials and equipment
- Prepares all paperwork for the import / export of material
- Maintains IMMEX software database
- Ensures monthly Anexo 24 reconciliations are being done internally
- Works with Materials and master data to stay up to date reconciling IMMEX software inventory with SAP (our MRP system)
- Coordinates day to day activities with US and MX brokers
- Works with I/E personnel to ensure smooth and compliant crossings of materials and goods.
- Audits broker and invoices
- Interacts with freight forwarder to obtain and analyze necessary documents and reports.
- Supports CTPAT security initiatives.
- Works with plant to obtain AEO certification (OEA)
- Responsible for operational compliance of Import/Export requirements pertaining to Mexican and U.S Customs regulations
- Understands and manages VAT Bond and VAT Certification obligations (CIVA)
- Performs Annex 30 CIVA reporting and validation processes
- Familiar with USMCA regulations applicable to IMMEX operations
- Understands Mexican Customs audit procedures (PAMA, Onsite visits, among others).
- Is familiar with Mexican maquila regulations and limitations on Customs transactions
- Follows all SOPs for import and export compliant operations and suggests process improvements or changes
- Works with MX broker to leverage all cost savings programs available to IMMEX companies
- Pro-actively works with site staff and Mexican Customs Broker to mitigate any adverse VAT conditions by recommending and putting in place strategies to minimize VAT Payments on materials and equipment until Monterrey becomes IVA certified.
- Audits to SOPs to ensure that all I/E requirements are met.
- Works with Monterrey site staff and colleagues to provide awareness of how I/E impacts manufacturing operations, and also provides training for CTPAT and AEO (if applicable)
- Provides savings reports and operational metrics to site staffs and Trade Compliance
- Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
- Attends internal operational staff meetings
- Lead and mentor team
- Participate in one or 2 SBD/MX broker workshops per year for strategic process improvements
- Experience in Rule 8th Authorization and Control
- Experience in compliance of Mexican Regulations (Automatic Notice (Aviso Automatico), Energy Permits, Environmental.
- Experience in Sectorial Importer of Record (Padron Sectorial Textile, Plastic Scrap, Alluminum & Steel Scrap)
- Experience in Virtual Transfer Operations
- Experience in Transfer Notice between SBND locations (Aviso de Traslado)
- Experience in Change of Status (Cambio de Regimen) of Customs Entry
- Experiencce in Regularization of Merchandise (Regularizacion de Mercancias)
- Experience in Sea Port Customs Operation (Manzanillo)
- Understands HTS Classification
- Knowledge of Mexican Customs Laws and Regulations
**NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 5+ years working as an I/E manager or supervisor for a large manufacturing Maquila and who prepares the monthly Anexo 24 reports.
- Fully Bilingual in English and Spanish - written and verbal
- Good customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work under pressure AND flexible with hours worked
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Knowledge of AEO and/or CTPAT
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, knowledge of SAP and VASTERA Software beneficial
- Knowledge of the US Customs reconciliation process beneficial
