Coordinating with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials.Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
Implementing strategies such as safety stock, reorder points, and economic order quantities (EOQ).Demand Forecasting: Collaborating with sales, marketing, and production departments to forecast demand for materials and finished products.
Using historical data, market trends, and customer orders to predict future requirements.Supplier Coordination: Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms of agreements.
Ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.MRP System Management: Utilizing MRP software or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to input data, generate schedules, track inventory, and create reports.
Ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.Production Coordination: Liaising between production planning and materials procurement teams to align production schedules with material availability.
Resolving conflicts or issues related to material shortages or production delays.Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain and materials management processes.
Implementing efficiency improvements to reduce lead times, minimize waste, and optimize resource utilization.Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the supply chain related to material availability, supplier reliability, or market fluctuations.
Developing contingency plans and mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, procurement activities, and production schedules.
