Primary Purpose of the Position: Oversees engineering and technical design of industrial engineering. Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization. Manages communication and coordination among different types of engineers working on a project. Manages subordinate staff in the day to day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Lead Industrial Engineer team members to work proactively on the constraints Identifying losses and coordinating continuous improvement activities. Drive the creation and maintenance of engineer standards (or time studies where applicable. Support capital projects, by providing the data and analysis to justify expenditures. Lead/Coordinate the layout change approval process. Support local and regional Industrial Engineer Managers with data, studies and scenario evaluations. Using the Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools and the Metrics, proactively identify and help implement improvement to the Supplier Quality and Supplier Quality Tools and Processes Promote the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement techniques at Suppliers to help them reduce variability and achieve process control Train Suppliers to effectively execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and Corrective Actions Preventive Actions (CAPA) Initiate and follow-up Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR) in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure complete and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Responsible for driving the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process for all Suppliers and CM's working with the Newark Facility Perform periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems for the purpose of assuring continued Supplier conformance to the quality system requirements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership capabilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written).
