Schneider Electric is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Industrialization Assembly Specialist to support supply chain development in New Product Introduction. The position is based in Mexico City, and reports to Schneider Electric Energy Management Business Unit as part of Secure Power Division. This position will be accountable for industrializing new assembly processes. What do you get to do in this position? Works collaboratively with cross functional team members, with some located in other geographic regions and cultures. Act as safety and health champion for New Product Development assembly outputs (peer review, ergonomics, environmental, quality…) Work directly with Designers and Engineers to optimize part design for Design for Assembly (DFA) Conduct Design for Assembly (DFA) risk study / Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) assessing critical characteristics, risks, and developing mitigation plans. Conduct financial assessment on the assembly process design based on unit volumes and maximizing return on capital employed. Document the technical and generic specifications of the assembly process design including line layouts, station layouts, information management, capacity and workload balancing, preferred component usage, etc. Prepare an assembly value add target cost estimate based on costing models and use this to optimize the total cost and Industrial strategy decision. Participate in the supplier selection and contract review process with Purchasing for outsourced assemblies. Maintain current knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment technologies and analyze these technologies as related to applicability for use in production departments and the manufacturing facility. Utilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processes. Monitor assembly process equipment completion with suppliers and actively participate / lead the process qualification process while optimizing the performance. Obtain plant acceptance and provide the final sign-off on equipment and process for project deliverables. Ensure compliance of all documentation in alignment with the Lean Manufacturing Principles (Kanban, Kaizen, etc) and SPS (Schneider Electric Production System). Work closely with operations plants as well as participate in periodic Global Supply Chain SPS audits (Schneider Electric Production System) to stay current on best practices and expectations of internal operations customers. This job might be for you if: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree. 3+ years' experience in similar assembly and production environment. 3+ years in a new product development environment actively developing new industrial processes (preferred). Experience in implementing assembly processes in both high volume and low volume production environments. Experience in a new product development environment or related stage gate process awareness (preferred). Lean Expert certification or demonstrated competence in Lean Manufacturing (5s, Kanban, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement) strongly preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated competence in Quality Engineering skills (desired). Automation experience is a plus for this job. Background in Operations is desired. Advanced English level.
