!The IT Support Security Engineer ensures the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the organization's IT systems and data.
This role combines IT support expertise with advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles to resolve technical issues, safeguard systems, and implement security protocols.Responsibilities:IT Support and Troubleshooting:Provide Level 2/3 support for hardware, software, and network issues.Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to operating systems, applications, and hardware.Document solutions, FAQs, and procedures for recurring issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution.Security Monitoring and Incident Response:Monitor networks, systems, and logs for potential security breaches or anomalies.Investigate, analyze, and respond to security alerts or incidents promptly.Implement and maintain tools for intrusion detection, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.System Security and Hardening:Enforce access controls, including role-based permissions and identity management.Ensure all systems, servers, and endpoints are patched and updated to minimize vulnerabilities.Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments.Develop and maintain IT security documentation, such as policies and procedures.Network Security:Assist with the configuration and management of firewalls, VPNs, and other security appliances.Optimize network performance while ensuring security best practices are upheld.Training and Education:Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices, phishing awareness, and safe browsing habits.Keep up to date with the latest security threats and technologies, sharing knowledge with the team.Qualifications:Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in IT support, with a focus on security.Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), networking, and troubleshooting.Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, and endpoint protection software.Familiarity with compliance standards (e.G., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA).Experience with Cloud Security Engineering.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionConsulting#J-18808-Ljbffr
