Operational Excellence Engineer (OpEx Engineer) partners with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance departments to lead quick and effective resolutions to quality and delivery gaps that impact the ability to meet business & customers' needs.
Implements new techniques or new methods of continuous improvement, driving and piloting Lean management projects that aim to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
The individual in this position must be highly motivated and able to drive urgency across the team.
The position will oversee a cross-functional problem-solving team, combining problem-solving tools with engineered countermeasures to deliver quick turn engineering solutions to problems.
Break down the site's continuous improvement strategy into action plans, applying and monitoring them.
Plan, organize, and carry out the identified improvement actions.
Use and implement continuous improvement tools (lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, VSM, etc.).
Lead cross-functional working groups to deploy the continuous improvement approach to all teams.
Train and support technical and production teams in continuous improvement tools.
Provide problem-solving training to the cross-functional team as needed.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 3-5 years in continuous improvement approaches, including Lean, 5S, SMED, VSM, etc.
Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
Understanding of Lean and Practical Problem Solving methods.
Excellent project and change management skills.
Ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change.
Aptitude for facilitating Lean tools training at all plant levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Visio, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work within a diverse environment and with a variety of individuals at all levels.
