Selective Soldering Process Engineer Responsibilities:
• Responsible to follow implementation of DMD´s / VVT´s / and general specifications requested
for VS.
• Support quality / customer audits.
• Support fixtures and tools: Designing, acceptance validation, release and implementation on production process.
• Maintain a clean and highly organized area, participating in Lean Manufacturing 5S activities and projects.
• Eliminate non-valued added activities.
• Maintain constant communication with CN and CoC to understand changes and new
requirements and communicate them to MFP group.
• Identify gaps, improvement opportunities and vulnerabilities in process and provide training for engineers and technicians to solve them and implement this training and actions in a systematic way.
• Authority and responsibility to initiate action to prevent nonconformity, identify and record all problems relating to the product, process, and quality system, initiate or recommend solutions, verify the effectiveness of the solutions and control further processing or delivery of the non-conformance until it has been resolved.
• Understand component parts identification, process improvement and inventory awareness.
• Working knowledge of various soldering alloys, fluxes and cleaning materials and procedures.
• Define process parameters according to DMD, VVT, DI, etc.
• Validate NPI establishing process parameters, mechanical dimensions and production release.
• Train technicians on process, machine configuration and process parameters.
QualificationsEDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering / Mechatronics.
SKILLS:
• Requires 2+ years selective solder experience.
• Certification in soldering, preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment and a commitment to continuous learning and
improvement.
• Knowledge of electronic components identification.
• Deep understanding of flux, pre-heat and material influences in the selective soldering process.
• Knowledge on Solder Machines: ERSA and Inertec.
• Knowledge in pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in surface mount technology, preferred.
• Deep Knowledge in MSA and SPC (Minitab, Solara or similar).
