**Description**

This position inspects compliance with Part 213 (monitoring standards) protects the track that does not comply with appropriate corrective measures and to protect trains and crews. The position also promotes safety with the crew through work audits and safety meetings.

**Accountabilities**
- Inspects tracks after repairs are made.
- Responds to trouble calls and conducts special visual inspections after adverse weather alerts.
- Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
- Identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using KCS Candor, Aligning the Stars & KCS ABC's, and have the individual produce better results.

**Required**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Specialist knowledge of one or more disciplines of railroad operations
- As a requirement of the "Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transporte" must have and maintain valid the LFF (Licencia Federal Ferroviaria) for the duration of his employment contract with Kansas City Southern.

**Working Conditions**
- Available 24 X 7 X 365.
- Works outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
- Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
