PDP aims to contribute to improving the institutional and operational capacity of governmental and non-governmental actors involved in the protection of human rights defenders and journalists. Through this program, it is intended to support the generation of a safer civic space for the exercise of freedom of expression and the defense of rights.**Please note: Only Mexican citizens are eligible for this position**Position Summary:The Institutional Strengthening Specialist will support the design of protection actions with government entities, aimed at safeguarding the safety and integrity of journalists and human rights defenders. The Specialist will develop and implement tools and technical interventions intended to strengthen the capacity of Mexican government institutions (GOM) at the federal and state levels to protect human rights defenders and journalists.Responsibilities:Provide institutional strengthening tools to governmental counterparts to enhance their protection processes.Conduct sessions on best practices and lessons learned in institutional strengthening in an interinstitutional manner.Provide support to government entities for a determined period to institutionalize processes and tools, achieving sustainable improvement.Offer specialized assistance and advice to governmental counterparts for the implementation of effective protection strategies aimed at journalists and human rights defenders.Develop technical and methodological instruments, such as guides, manuals, or protocols, that facilitate the implementation of protection actions by governmental institutions.Develop innovative methodologies to share best practices and lessons learned among protection entities.Collaborate in the creation and improvement of interinstitutional coordination mechanisms to ensure an efficient and cohesive response to threats and aggressions.Coordinate the implementation of specialized technical instruments in the protection of human rights defenders and journalists.Coordinate training and specialization programs on protection for public servants at the national and state levels.Qualifications:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in law, political science, or a related field is required
