The D&R Engineer will ensure the designed components meet the packaging space requirement and can interact with surround systems/components as they are required to. These components must meet stringent functional requirements that simulate the real-life customer usage of automotive vehicles with all environmental effects included. Responsibilities also include managing costs, weight, and program timing, and ensuring the manufacturing feasibility for the assigned components.ResponsibilitiesComply with Program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.Comply with Robustness Engineering Disciplines (Quality History, P – Diagram, FMEA, etc.)Monitor the development of Interior Cockpit for Ford vehicles according to company-specific benchmarks.Participate in the Sourcing Process (Lead To4 and To5 discussions, ED&T review, piece price and tooling cost review and CPA).Design parts in order to comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation, considering the WCR (Worldwide Customers Requirements), ES (Engineering Specifications) and SDS (Systems Design specifications) as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements.Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into engineering targets.Release parts in FEDEBOM and WERS through the product life cycle. Support the Change Control Meeting.Responsible of incorporation of new designs and engineering changes at the Assembly Plant and leading discussions with involved parties including suppliers.Responsible to look for design improvements to increase quality and cost / weight optimization.DPA1 thru 5, AIMS resolution
