**A Snapshot of Your Day**
- The position is to coordinate in the field the commissioning of turbines, generators and ancillary systems. It requires 80%+ travel to power plant sites internationally. The daily activities include leading and directing field services, and subcontractors to do the necessary tasks to serve the equipment, while assuring quality and technical procedures are followed. You will attend site meetings with customers/subcontractors to coordinate these tasks. You will coordinate and manage the timing of material received on site as necessary. You will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis. You must have a mechanical background and be able to read drawings and schematics necessary for the maintenance of the equipment.
- ** How You'll Make an Impact**:
- Primary contact to customers for the maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning of large gas turbines.
- Have a thorough understanding of the theory of the combustion process and knowledge of the combustion dynamics that occur in Siemens-Energy large gas turbines.
- Able to perform combustion tuning on Siemens-Energy SGT6-5000F, SGT6-6000G, SGT6-8000H frame gas turbines. This is to include the procedure for tuning, the process to perform countermeasures for pressure fluctuations encountered, and performance of special tuning such as load overshoot, emissions, and Fuel Gas Temperature tuning.
- Work closely with the Siemens Energy project team from planning to completion of service projects, provide start-up commissioning, operations and/or troubleshooting support for equipment failures and determine root cause analysis and implement solutions Ensures equipment services and commissioning processes are followed.
- Provide inputs for required manpower, tooling, materials, and timeline and supervise Siemens Energy personnel and project workers at site when required.
- Communicate progress / problems to the client and Siemens Energy project team on a regular basis.
- Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning the condition and repairs and recommendations for customer equipment.
- Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality). - Mandatory for all positions in Mex, auditable
**What You Bring**
- University Degree in Mechanical-Electrical Engineer or similar (Bachelor's degree).
- Professional Experience (4+ years) as a field service commissioning and combustion tuning engineer, or at least five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Knowledge on troubleshooting, combustion tuning and commissioning of large gas turbines, for specific projects.
- Good verbal communication skills with the ability to fluently speak, write, and read in English, at professional working proficiency level.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of time (sometimes at little or short notice)
