.LOCATION: Guadalajara, SSC -hybridREPORTS TO: Manager, Cost AccountingPrimary FunctionExecute cost accounting transactions for the US/CAN business, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly stated. Main focus on inventory reconciliations. Participate in the month end and year end closing process as required.Core Responsibilities:- Review daily inventory adjustments and prepare monthly external location inventory reconciliations.- Investigate, clarify and correct the differences found in the reconciliation processes, communicating on a constant basis with external and internal parties.- Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.- Book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.- Assist in physical inventory audits at external inventory locations if necessary.- Identify, initiate and develop system changes with information technology to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.- Ensure Desk Top Procedures (DTP's) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.- Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process.- Interact with and support team members. Participate in group problem solving and team activities.- Clearly identify internal customers and internal functions to ensure customer satisfaction both at SCC and business units specially with plants.- Help with other accounting activities in the department when needed, like preparing and providing financial information for internal/external audits, or Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate expenditure data is available for the US/Canadian business.Qualification Requirements:- 0 to 4 years of significant experience in financial analysis, reporting, accounting or auditing within manufacturing entities in a multinational environment and public companies.- Advanced English language skills required.- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related like Business Administration or Finance.- Proven advanced proficiency in the use of MS Excel (Macros is a must, and high database analysis and manipulation skills) and other MS Office Suite Software Programs.- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of cost accounting structures and inventory reconciliations.- Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels within the organization as well as to external customers and vendors.- Experience working with SAP is a plus.- Travel required on ad hoc basis (probably 2-5 times a year to warehouse locations).Desired behaviors & experiences:- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills required
