This position supports the Latin America business unit and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities of multiple processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review terminal vs SAP inventory reconciliation
- Prepare reconciliation comparing inventory received to terminal reports / customs reports/ inspectors' reports / and SAP reports.
- Review Vessel documentation to prepare needed accounting process (PO or Manual JE)
- Reconcile Inventory sales to SAP / Billing files / and terminal reports
- Processing
- Create Inventory Purchase orders, Goods Receipts and Goods issues for all terminals
- Book inventory Gain/Loss by terminal daily to avoid negative inventory
- Correct PO/GR as needed if pricing, volume, or plant issues arise
- Adhoc Reports
- Help construct volumetric controls / CRE / and LIFO-FIFO reports
- Gain/Loss threshold % reports by terminal
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance maintaining accounting and financial records and reports
- Experience working with multinational companies is preferred
- Oil and Gas industry is preferred
- Proficient knowledge in MS Excel is required, advanced is preferred
- Must be Bilingual - Fluency (speaking and writing) in both Spanish and English
- Understanding of IFRS, US GAAP and Mexican accounting processes
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statements and reports, and ledgers and journals
- Proficiency in using accounting or related systems
- Strong ability to multi-task and adapt in ambiguous environments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to review and analyze the most complex accounting information
- Ability to identify, research and resolve complex accounting issues
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and promote teamwork
- Required to work extensive hours and sometimes over weekends with appropriate flexibility
