We are seeking hardworking individuals to join Micron as a Inventory Management and Optimization Analyst! This role will expose you to Micron's end-to-end Supply Chain, while working with various departments including Operations, Sales, Business Units, Corporate Strategy, and Finance.
As a Inventory Management and Optimization Analyst at Micron Technology, Inc., you will work to develop and manage supply chain policies, inventory business processes or inventory optimization models, driving our massive suite of data to concise information that all teams can act on to push Micron to be best in class. You will have responsibilities in driving projects and programs to determine safety stock policies, replenishment strategy per product, maintain our days of inventory outstanding (DIO) at target, and manage ongoing improvements in current and future inventory disposition systems.
Much of your time will be spent proactively managing internal relationships across all operations, supply planning, product engineering and business unit entities worldwide to understand strategic and tactical issues and associated KPI's.
You must have excellent skills related to data analysis and developing conclusions to complex problems. You must also have strong communication skills and leadership abilities as these will make you successful in resolving many of the problems you find to meet the defined objectives.
You will be expected to develop a holistic understanding of service level, inventory management and inventory optimization related business processes at Micron.
General responsibilities: Design and implement business processes and/or plans with internal stakeholders, identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with key internal partners to drive continuous improvement efforts to address the gaps. Highlight and drive resolution to planning issues; gaps between roadmap strategy, manufacturing capability, market demands, and supply feasibility. Build optimization models on large data sets, analyze data and be able to summarize and present trends to partners. Understand the interaction of Supply Chain technology solutions associated applications used within Micron (i.e. LPI, CTM, SPO, Rapid Response, MICAP, Tableau, APO-DP, etc.). Become a subject matter expert (SME) on all aspects of assigned current and future inventory reporting solutions and disposition systems. Evaluate new systems and processes, and conduct research, to provide innovative solutions to complex inventory situations. Analyze demand, supply, and shipment trends using statistical tools to identify opportunities and risks to business revenue plans. Create methodologies/automated processes to analyze, supply, solve, and find root-cause for supply shortages by data mining planning systems. Perform User Acceptance Testing of system improvements to enable Information Technology to push new enhancements to the production environment. Evaluate inventory mixes to identify slow-moving, orphaned, overstocked, or quality hold inventories and collaborate with stakeholders to develop appropriate actions. Engage on DIO actions to develop and drive strategic business processes and innovation to continuously manage and achieve DIO targets. Understand Non Nettable, APO Non-Relevant and Aged material generation and work with Operations, Product Engineering, and Central Organizations to drive processes and programs to minimize. Build expertise in our Advanced Planning and Optimization data system as it relates to categorization of inventory throughout the mfg process. Drive attribute-based inventory segmentation to a minimum and collaborate to build automated solutions to enable merging and fast disposition. Collaborate for regularly scheduled inputs from all sites and develop reporting solutions to understand potential excess inventory. Develop and coordinate development of automated solutions to give clarity to performance and actions. Automate the compilation of data and statistics on reserves seen and drive improvements to reduce potential on a go forward basis. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering / supply chain management / data science / operations research. Proficient with data and analytics. Comfortable solving new problems in a fast-paced environment. Can adhere to specific weekly tasks and deadlines. Strong communication skills. Proven leadership skills. Knowledge of supply chain processes. Knowledge of the semiconductor value chain.
