**About the job**
The Investment Officer will work with internal and external experts as required in the best interests of our partners and Oikocredit. He/she will act as a relationship manager, translating market developments and client needs into opportunities to create impact and do business. Although specialised in a specific sector, the Investment Officer is conversant with Oikocredit's strategy, sectors and its products & services.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**A. Portfolio Development**:
- Establish a robust network for sourcing investment opportunities in line with our focus areas.
- Identify, evaluate, and execute a pipeline of investment opportunities.
- Build a diversified portfolio of assets through direct investments or partnerships.
- Develop and implement financial models and systems for comprehensive project analysis.
- Responsible for the end-to-end investment cycle including identification, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing of transactions.
- Produce detailed financing proposals and present them to the Investment Committee.
**B. Portfolio Management**:
- Maintain and manage relationships with project partners, co-financiers, legal advisors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor the financial, social, and environmental performance of investments, and conduct periodic reviews and site visits.
- Provide detailed performance reports to management and the board.
**C. Supporting Regional Investment Officers**:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of skills and knowledge within the regional investment teams.
- Evaluate project opportunities and collaborate with regional investment officers on structuring deals.
- Support negotiation and transaction structuring activities alongside regional teams.
**Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, structured finance or project finance and economic development with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments.
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid understanding of and abilitily to evaluate compnay financial statements,
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling and advanced financial modelling,
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Extensive user skills of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy in general
- Ability to work independently within an international team.
