The Deputy Counsel is an intermediate position responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day legal activities in coordination with the Legal team. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice and guidance across a broad range of practice areas.**Responsibilities**:Evaluate employee performance and provide recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.Supervise external counsel and resolve issues, escalating to manager as neededProvide legal advice in one area of practice within a product, country or businessAnalyze documentation against regulatory requirements and internal policies to advise business accordinglyProduce internal and external documents containing strategic recommendations with respect to matters managed for senior attorneys/country counsel reviewExecute tasks that support the fulfillment of the Firm's overall obligations and responsibilities**Qualifications**:2-5 years of relevant experienceJuris Doctorate preferredRelevant experience preferably from another bank or law firmComprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and practicesConsistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communicationProven analytical and organizational skills**Education**:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
