Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilityBackup Management:Monitor and manage backup jobs, ensuring successful completion and adherence to backup schedules.Verify backup integrity through regular testing and validation procedures.Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, errors, and performance issues.Data Recovery:Perform data restores as requested by users or in response to data loss incidents.Ensure timely and accurate recovery of data, minimizing downtime and data loss.Document recovery procedures and maintain records of recovery operations.Storage Management:Administer storage systems, including provisioning, configuration, and capacity management.Monitor storage performance and usage, identifying and addressing potential issues.Implement storage optimization techniques to maximize resource utilization and efficiency.System Maintenance & Upgrades:Perform regular maintenance tasks on backup and storage systems, including software updates and hardware checks.Plan and execute system upgrades to enhance performance and support growth.Ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and firmware.Security & Compliance:Implement and enforce security measures to protect backup and storage systems from unauthorized access and threats.Ensure compliance with data retention policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.Incident Response & Escalation:Respond to and resolve incidents related to backup and storage systems, escalating complex issues as needed.Collaborate with other IT teams to address cross-functional incidents and root cause analysis.Document incident resolutions and contribute to the knowledge base for future reference.Monitoring & Reporting:Monitor backup and storage system health and performance using management tools and dashboards.Generate and analyze reports on backup success rates, storage utilization, and performance metrics.Provide insights and recommendations to improve system performance and efficiency.Documentation & Procedures:Create and maintain detailed documentation for backup and storage procedures, configurations, and policies.Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks and incident response.Ensure accurate and accessible documentation for team members and stakeholders.Collaboration & Training:Work closely with application teams, system administrators, and other IT staff to support backup and storage operations.Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and support staff on backup and storage best practices.Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Continuous Improvement:Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in backup and storage management.Proactively identify opportunities to enhance backup and storage systems, processes, and tools.Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new backup and storage solutions.Qualifications5+ years supporting Server, Storage and Backup systemsProficiency in backup and recovery technologies, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.Strong knowledge of storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and DAS architectures.Experience with storage management tools and performance tuning techniques.Familiarity with scripting and automation for backup and storage tasks (, PowerShell, Bash).Additional InformationGet to know more about how we work at Bosch and our new open positions on our social networks:Facebook: Instagram: LinkedIn: All of our vacancies are eligible for relocation financial support* based on internal mobility policy 0085.
