.A System Analyst specializes in diagnosing and solving problems for complex computer systems.
Under close supervision, he uses computer and operations knowledge to find and fix problems in large computer networks, including monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting server and storage systems, ensuring optimal performance and security, routinely performing analysis during regular IT infrastructure operations.This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background in servers, storage systems/solutions, infrastructure architecture, data centers, networks, and fluency in operating systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills to work closely with IT teams to formulate a plan to implement necessary upgrades, patches, or troubleshooting.ResponsibilitiesSystems and Security Monitoring:Assist with the implementation of monitoring tools and ensure all devices are being monitored.Monitor system-related security alerts and escalate issues as necessary.Support the implementation of a standard patching tool.Apply patches and perform vulnerability remediations.Analyze system performance to identify bottlenecks and single points of failure to improve performance.Conduct system security audits and support vulnerability assessments.Troubleshooting:Track and investigate alerts generated by system monitoring tools.Monitor the ticket system for system incidents that the Help Desk cannot resolve; escalate to L3 Systems Team members as necessary for job shadowing and learning how to resolve common incidents.Document troubleshooting steps performed and begin building a Knowledge Base (KB) in the ticketing system.Diagnose and resolve complex server, storage, and backup issues.Recommend and support the implementation of solutions to prevent recurring problems.User Support:Monitor the ticket system for network requests that the Help Desk cannot resolve; escalate to L3 Systems Team members as necessary for job shadowing and learning how to complete common requests.Provide technical support for end-user requests.Create new servers as requested.Plan and execute server upgrades and migrations.Configurations and Documentation:Maintain documentation of configuration changes and procedures.Track and manage server, storage, and backup hardware and software inventory.Maintain Change Management Database (CMDB) systems information and application owners.Support the development and enforcement of systems policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.QualificationsMinimum Level of Education:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
Entry-level server certification, CompTIA Server+ or equivalent is preferred.Experience:1-3 years of experience in a similar position.Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills Required:Basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS)
