**Job Description Summary**: Engineering intern will be critical to help the Engineering team in the value stream mapping of engineering analytical processes such as fluid analysis and pipe stress, with the purpose to identify waste, reduce process cycle times, and implement process improvement, and therefore increase productivity across the team during the execution of these. Development and improvement of automated Engineering tools, Procedures and Quality Documents creation will be also part of the ETIP's scope.
Be familiar with the analysis and design related tasks for GT Mechanical
systems that meet business standards, practices, and procedures, and meet the product/program requirements. Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements. Document technical and quality data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, processes and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Monitor and communicate project status, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and significant developments. Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews. Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met. Lead the implementation of automated analysis design tools. Demonstrate technical expertise for the position Lead process improvement efforts, i.e. quality, simplification, reduced touch time and cycle.
**Qualification / Requirements**
- Student of Mechanical Engineering, or related career.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
- English skills: Must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.
- Demonstrated ability in managing own projects
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Skills, i.e. Excel Macros Development.
