**What You Will Bring To The Team**
The Software Engineering intern contributes to the professional services team to learn and aid with the development and support of Toshiba's Point of Sale (POS) solutions in the retail marketplace, collaborating within the agile development team in a fast-paced, customer-first environment. These solutions include point of sale (POS), and customer loyalty solutions. Many technologies are used, including SaaS (Software as a Service), SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), and desktop python automation development.
**What You Will Be Doing**
Your typical day as a Toshiba **Developer Intern **will involve:
- Assist engineers in a subset of the following areas as assigned:
- Work directly with the agile development team and stakeholders to help with existing requirements, adhere to timelines, and meet deliverables.
- Learn about TGCS product offerings and how clients use them.
- Learn how TGCS products go from an idea to a fully-fledged product.

- Programming and analytical skills, problem determination and debugging, attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
- English: Fluent (Capacity to read, analyze, correct, and write)
- Responsible, organized, and hard-working with excellent communication skills in teamwork.
- Computer science fundamentals including object-oriented concepts, overloading, inheritance, and related algorithms.
- Knowledge of unit testing and build automation.
- Experience working with hardware.
- Familiarity with the software engineering lifecycle and agile methodologies. (desired)
- Operative Systems: Windows and Linux (desired)
- Familiarity with Git/GitLab. (desired)
**Preferred Skills**
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Knowledge in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced English.
- The last semesters of a Computer / Systems Engineering / Business Administrative career or related.
- Skilled in Java.
- Operative Systems: Windows and Linux.
- Familiarity with Git/GitLab.
