Strategic Procurement Business Partner
Location: Queretaro – MXJob Family: Procurement
As a Strategic Procurement Business Partner, you lead execution and delivery of mid – long term functional strategy and relevant procurement activities within your business unit/region through local and/or global teams, as well as outsourced procurement organization. You are accountable for ensuring adherence to global JM policies, procedures, category strategies whilst addressing, and representing in functional forums, key business needs of your stakeholders. A core part of the role is to ensure compliance to the deployed Procurement operating model, help to drive clarity of responsibilities across JM stakeholders and suppliers, lead collaboration and alignment between global, outsourced and site teams. Apart from delivering on stretch key procurement performance metrics in your assigned business unit/geography, you will be also expected to champion process excellence and drive continuous improvement within overall functional operating model.
Your responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact for local stakeholders on procurement services and deliverables.
Influence local demand for spend efficiency; direct requests to JM Procurement or outsourced teams.
Lead local saving plans, support market strategies, and implement savings initiatives.
Represent local needs in procurement management and contribute to global solutions.
Communicate and support local procurement projects, policies, and supplier management in line with global strategies.
Manage local strategic initiatives not covered by global strategies; participate in global projects.
Coordinate with process owners for end-to-end procurement services at local/regional levels.
Liaise between sites, suppliers, and procurement managers for supplier performance reviews.
Build relationships with Procurement counterparts to find regional improvement opportunities.
Enhance offerings and leverage the outsourced relationship for resource needs.
Resolve escalations from local stakeholders and suppliers.
Provide strategic procurement support for the assigned Business Unit/geography.
Resolve issues and escalations beyond standard processes; involve global teams as necessary.
Ensure efficient and compliant use of global procurement tools and platforms.
Manage local supplier relationships and support globally managed supplier strategies.
Contribute to Category Management with insights on suppliers and buying strategies.
Handle specific tasks/projects as directed by Procurement leadership.
Share best practices and collaborate on continuous improvement across Procurement teams.
Implement site-level improvements to address risks and challenges.
Requirements for the role:
Proven experience in managing procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge of procurement best practices that deliver optimal service and performance to local/regional businesses.
Experience in a similar industry with global complexity and operating models.
Proven project management skills, including influencing budget holders and fostering collaboration for an optimal supplier ecosystem that delivers savings, innovation, and business value.
Full proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in both English and Spanish.
You are expected to work on-site 3 to 4 days per week.
