Welcome to Bosch!**Job Description**:Product Design Engineer responsible for the mechanical design and release of steering products. Development customer / program specific steering products following design guidelines of Bosch AS where applicable and creating new designs as needed to meet customer requirements. Coaching and mentoring of the Jr. and Intermediate Design Engineers. Support design reviews and releases as needed.- Design steering systems that meet customer requirements and specifications following Bosch product development processes.- Develop/maintain/release math data using software CREO, PDMLink and Axalant.- Develop/maintain/release drawings/specifications using BOSCH tools (Axalant) and processes.- Develop/maintain/release bills of material using BOSCH tools (Axalant) and processes.- Develop/maintain/release stack up for assemblies.- Supports problems solving / continuous improvement activities.- Hold design review meetings with suppliers to clarify all technical aspects of purchased components and assemblies.- Work with Project Team to establish and maintain relationships at the OEM- Supports continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts- Communicate with BOSCH core engineering on product direction, design standards & customer requirements.- Supports design proposals for new business opportunities outlining BOSCH design solutions to customer requirements.**Qualifications**:- Mechanical design involving concept generation, CAD modeling,drawing creation and releases as per AS PEP- Develop technical designs with CAD (2D & 3D)Support Continuous improvements and cost reduction activities- Create BOM (Bill of materials)- Administrate engineering changes using tools such as DRBFM and DFMEA.- Packaging design.- Create and support technical standards/ specifications.- Coordination with OEM's and AS Cross-functional Teams.- Obtain OEM approval of Bosch AS manufacturing deviations as needed.- Comply with TS16949 and other AS policies and procedures.Additional Information- Design steering systems that meet customer requirements and specifications following Bosch product development processes.- Develop/maintain/release math data using software CREO, PDMLink and Axalant.- Develop/maintain/release drawings/specifications using BOSCH tools (Axalant) and processes.- Develop/maintain/release bills of material using BOSCH tools (Axalant) and processes.- Develop/maintain/release stack up for assemblies.- Supports problems solving / continuous improvement activities.- Hold design review meetings with suppliers to clarify all technical aspects of purchased components and assemblies
