**Position Overview**:
Aptiv is seeking a skilled and motivated ECAD Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuit boards and systems that are integral to our advanced automotive solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
**Major Accountabilities**:
- Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for various electronic systems and components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
- Utilize ECAD software tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro) to create PCB layouts that meet electrical, mechanical, and thermal requirements.
- Design high-speed digital PCB layouts for data transmission, signal integrity, and noise immunity in electronic control units (ECUs) and communication systems.
- Ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of PCB designs by incorporating shielding, filtering, and grounding techniques to mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and maintain signal integrity.
- Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to optimize PCB layouts for efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior ECAD engineers, assisting them in developing their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional competencies.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in PCB design processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Lead initiatives to implement innovative solutions, best practices, and process improvements to enhance the efficiency, quality, and competitiveness of ECAD engineering activities.
