Job Summary: The Information Systems Project Manager, under direct supervision of a Program Manager, manages up to medium-sized projects or phase(s) of a larger project. This position requires a combination of technical proficiency, proven project management skills, strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the automotive finance industry.
Job Responsibilities: Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks such as detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders.Work with the Information Systems Manager, Program Manager and stakeholders to ensure project goals are in line with business objectives.Conduct kick-off to start the project and review the overall project plan and gain consensus.Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.Manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs.Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality, and integrity of information.Ensure that project goals are achieved.Typically manages one or more projects that have:A team size of up to 10 membersA duration from 6 to 12 monthsA moderately aggressive timelineAn enterprise span of impact to an organizationIncludes many interfaces1-5 functional Disciplines / StakeholdersUtilizing Waterfall and Agile methodologiesRoutinely communicate up to Sr Manager and regionally regarding the status of specific projects.Drive project team to foresee risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, continuously assess and implement mitigations.Review project proposals or plans to develop a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases.Job Knowledge and Skills: Must have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Nice to have: Prior experience in the automotive or financial services industry is a plus.
Years of Experience: +5 years of experience in project management, preferably in IT automotive and/or financial services.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Specific Course/Certifications: Project management methodologies (i.e. Agile, Scrum, PMI) and project management tools (i.e. Clarity, Jira, MS Project).
