We're seeking a skilled organizer with extensive experience to lead our kitchen team in Mazunte, Mexico! Our Kitchen Coordinator works with, supports, and oversees a team of staff and volunteers to create the best dining experience possible for our students and community members. They are responsible for the harmonious operational functioning of our kitchen in accordance with the Hridaya Vision and the Karma Yoga spirit. Key Responsibilities: Training, scheduling, and managing kitchen staff and operations, co-leading weekly team meetings, and participating in monthly coordinators' meetings. Overseeing our vegan menu according to the course schedule, accounting for seasonal changes. Coordinating with the Chef to manage the departmental budget and the supply ordering process. Proactively maintaining best practices in food hygiene and sattvic food preparation to support yogic practices. Suggesting improvements and supporting kitchen operations on all levels. Qualifications: While serving at our centers and working with others, it's essential to cultivate the Karma Yoga spirit, consciously integrating daily responsibilities into spiritual practice. The ideal candidate has: Proven experience in commercial/industrial kitchen management (retreat centers, restaurants, hotels, etc.) Experience in sourcing and developing relationships with vendors for raw goods, supplies, and equipment Pragmatic leadership skills and the ability to manage diverse teams Intuitive organizational and multitasking skills High standards of hygiene and thorough knowledge of food safety protocols Excellent communication skills in English and proficiency in Spanish Serving With Us Means: A work week of 35 hours.
