**SEMICONDUCTOR & ASSEMBLY SOLUTIONS (SAS)**

**Job Purpose**:
In the Laboratory Supervisor position, you will oversee the daily operation of the laboratory quality control section to ensure that materials approved for use/dispatch meet appropriate standards. In this role you will be responsible for all human and material resources of the QC Lab. This position supervises 4 laboratory technicians.
**Responsibilities**:
- Calculate and devise plans and strategies for ongoing laboratory operations and increase capacity. Maintain continuous operation by overseeing inventory and purchase plans.
- Develop and/or implement new methods to increase and diversify analytical capacity.
- Evaluate, develop and initiate the development of current test methods to ensure that the laboratory utilizes the most accurate, efficient and effective way to test current products.
- Provide reliable customer contact to facilitate through research the handling of problems or issues concerning laboratory operations.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure that their expectations are met and their problems are resolved.
- Maintain quality of operation in laboratory functions.
- Support the quality department in problem solving and customer complaint investigation activities.
- Follow the indications of the control plan of your area.
**Requirements & Qualifications**:
- Experience of working in an analytical wet chemistry laboratory.
- A good level of numeracy ability, ideally with some understanding of statistical methods/analysis.
- Ideally you will have knowledge of alloy processing and organic/inorganic chemistry.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
- Direct laboratory operations and delegate responsibilities to subordinates.
- Create an appropriate work environment conducive to teamwork through quality employees.
- Foster a work environment where people take personal roles in individual jobs while working as a team and focusing on continuous improvement of the workplace.
- Organize an efficient and standardized workflow.
- Train laboratory staff to ensure the efficient operation of the Laboratory, based on staff expertise to carry out the daily routines of operation.
- Motivate, advise, evaluate and encourage independence and creativity in work, to provide constant and immediate feedback on work performed.
- Participate in global projects where the laboratory is involved.
- Dictate safety policy, install safety equipment where necessary and evaluate potential hazards.
- Ensure adequate coverage of the laboratory for production planning.
**Education**:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry
