Overview The Language Quality Manager (LQM) is responsible for raising the bar on localization quality for his/her language(s).
This role reviews the work of the translation vendor to ensure that it meets the project's quality standards and the criteria for specific use cases.
For any geo field feedback received, the LQM arbitrates differences between the field and vendor, and documents updates for entry into the linguistic assets (i.e. glossaries, style guides, and translation memories).
Additionally, this role oversees the continual improvement of the glossaries and style guides in his/her language in cooperation with the vendor.
Specifications Employment: 1 year full-time contract with possibility to become permanentLocation: Remote within MexicoResponsibilities The role is internally managed by the PS Localization PM (CPT team), yet works in close collaboration with the project's Localization Quality team.The candidate is expected to maintain his/her training in linguistics, translation technology, and project's technologies/services and serve as a subject matter expert for this nexus of skills.Understand the voice of external and internal PS clients, and make sure their interests guide the PS Localization Quality Program.Collaborate with the project's Localization Quality team to oversee that glossaries and style guides include entries important to PS projects.Maintain the quality and relevance of PS translation memories (i.e. past human translations), so that this data can enhance both human and machine translation productivity.Perform language-specific pilots with project's AI Services and give expert opinions on the output quality and recommended human-machine workflows.Use the project's machine learning-powered platform to analyze the vendor quality metrics, and implement corrective measures as needed.Co-present in outreach trainings to educate the project's PS team on the localization service.Assist the LQM team with any high-profile, time-sensitive quality review projects as a supplemental resource.This role will also serve as a linguistic consultant to the PS Localization PM, and will be instrumental in advising on best practices for expanding the PS Localization Quality Program into additional languages.Requirements Bachelors Degree in Translation or related3+ years of experience in Translation, ideally in client facing QA areaExcellent communication skills both in English and Spanish (LATAM)In order to apply, please submit your CV in English
