GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The welding engineer works in the manufacturing area. Responding directly to the Senior Engineer responsible for the area. The welding engineer must implement new products respecting the welding process's tight production in its area. He will be responsible for the Development, Introduction, and support of the daily operation of all components processed in your area. The welding engineer is the first contact in what refers to the calibration of manufactured parts. The welding engineer is always responsible for maintaining all tools and machines in the best working condition.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Professional Career in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, etc.)
- 3 years of experience in related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bilingual (80% English and Spanish) both oral and written
- 3D modeling software
- Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG Welding Process
- Knowledge in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical.
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing: Material flow, KanBan, 7 waste, FMEA, DFM, SMED, Troubleshooting, 5S
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop manufacturing parts/components with R&D respecting the team's capacity
- Evaluate and publish manufacturing drawing releases.
- Build, maintain, and improve VSM.
- Equipment requirements assessment
- Design process, tools, and masking for production that meets production standards, safety and quality.
- Design of transfer hooks and transfer carts.
- Define hand tool requirement
- Create, deliver, and update work instructions
- Create and maintain a spare parts list and create a maintenance program to prevent
- Support daily operation
- Provide the required information in SAP
- Track theoretical welding wire consumption versus actual consumption to ensure inventory
- Provide all information required for PPAP
- Implement lean manufacturing ideology
- Creation and Maintenance of machine workload capacity record.
- Creation and Maintenance of material flow diagram related to the machine.
- Creation and Maintenance of an efficient Kanban area
- Performs security-related activities.
- Creation of P3, Pilot and Dry Run parts.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor.
- Participate in compliance with the QMS (Quality Management System) determined for their function in relation to ISO9001:2015.
- Comply with the safety rules determined according to your function.
- Complete planned training related to Quality and Training on time.
- Identify and report any quality and compliance issues and support corrective actions.
