.Purpose Statement:The Plexus automation team is to identify, capture, develop, deploy and maintain solutions for the many opportunities throughout the Plexus value stream where innovative process and perform engineering design machines and other related automated solutions could have automation technology deployed to improve quality, efficiency and velocity. This role creates, and leverages, standardization to lead design, development, analysis, production, and commercialization of innovative automation electromechanical technological solutions to advance Plexus Manufacturing operations.Key Job Accountabilities:Automation Solution Development - Define, select and develop solution for automation opportunities using Plexus standard process. Develop Proof of Concept (POC) prototypes for new programs and tooling for additional products. Lead development of mechanical capabilities, documentation (models, drawings, assembly instructions).Automated Solution Deployment and Support - Deploy and maintain Plexus Automation Solutions. Sustain the performance of the solution through statistical process control and continuous improvement best practices (propagate best practices and standard work). Develop training materials and documentation for users.Automated Product Development Support - Support engineering development of products intended to be manufactured with automation technology. This includes reviews of the product design for potential risks/Proof of Concept prototype/Capture and report findings.Leadship support, to be a technical specialist, leader and mentor within their engineering discipline and mentor for project development. Achieve and serves as technical lead providing technical guidance, controlling scope, schedule and ensuring overall technical mechanical/software areas.Additional Accountabilities:- Mentor and help develop engineers and members of the extended team. Contribute to their understanding of automation, mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
