Primary Job Responsibilities: As a Lead Data Engineer in the Data and Analytics organization, this role will play a critical part in the continued advancement of cloud-native capabilities. This role must possess a strong data manipulation and data warehouse background. The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for working with business and technical stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements and translate them into a comprehensive data solution as well as implement data security measures to ensure that sensitive data is protected in accordance with the expected regulations. This role requires solid experience to generate and design solutions on cloud platforms such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or AWS (Amazon Web Services). The Lead Data Engineer will be part of designing wide, robust, and complex data ingestion and transformation solutions throughout the system development lifecycle. Coordinate and lead in support activities, and prototyping efforts including the read-out of outcomes in an acceptable manner. This role will also be responsible for mentoring and growing technical team members across the entire organization and demonstrate strong ownership characteristics, along with a consistent focus on emerging and predominant technologies that help the organization.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Practical technical experience through a combination of full-stack engineering, architecture, and/or technical delivery for large-scale, complex, cloud-based software systems. Proficiency with SQL & Query optimization, working on RDBMS and Data Warehouse (ERD and Dimensional modeling). General understanding of patterns related to architecture, design, and implementation of highly distributed global cloud-based systems on AWS and GCP. General understanding of GitLab CI and/or Jenkins CICD frameworks and DevSecOps practices. High aptitude for and desire to learn modern technologies related to Cloud-Native application development patterns. Ability to implement technical solutions and prototypes from high-level design sessions with Cloud Architect. Experience working on teams that use Agile as their system development life cycle methodology. Requirements: Demonstrated proficiency in SQL & Query optimization, working on RDBMS and Data Warehouses. Solid experience working with varied databases, real-time integration patterns, and ETL/ELT best practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience with data modeling tools and techniques. Experience working through Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban). Experience with CICD frameworks and common DevOps practices. Experience working in an onsite-offshore model. Hands-on experience working with Metadata, Data Quality, and Governance needs of Data and Analytics platforms. Soft Skills: Leadership, technical mentoring, analytical, engineering, problem solving, presentation, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work with a broad group of team members with diverse backgrounds. Experience: 6+ years' experience through a combination of full-stack engineering, architecture, and/or technical delivery for large-scale, complex, cloud-based software systems. 4+ years' experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems on AWS and GCP, and experience in data pipelines, streaming analytics, modern databases, network infrastructure, security, data, and application development. Hands-on experience in SQL & Query optimization, working on RDBMS and Data Warehouse (ER and Dimensional modeling). Hands-on experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle, including but not limited to design, implementation, build, test, deploy, and support activities.
