In this role you will own all engineering functions related to the production of rotating parts and compressor airfoils made by GE shops and external suppliers.In this role, you will be on the front lines of an organization that is dedicated to improving the producibility of the rotating parts of the aircraft engines, enhancing the Engineering-Supply chain relationship to improve the delivery of products and this way fulfil our customers' expectations.Examples of specific tasks you will be responsible for are: evaluation of nonconforming hardware that is in production, design changes for producibility improvement, on-going manufacturing support and strategic improvements on production related processes of the assigned hardware. Job Description The PT design engineer is responsible for the new make manufacturing of assigned parts. This includes building supplier relationships to improve producibility, reducing losses and scrap rates. These activities include on-site support and troubleshooting. The engineer will lead producibility improvements & cost reductions projects besides of collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on quality issues.The PT design engineer will lead audits to make sure that parts are manufactured according to design intent, revive significant process substantiations, respond to supplier problem reports and will provide disposition to reports of nonconforming parts.
