This lead engineer will serve as a recognized expert in the services field, both internally and externally, partnering with customers and industry leaders. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy, for customer success.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesProvide technology leadership globally for generator technology.Lead root cause investigations for issues with significant fleet impact from initial investigation through the CAPA phase.Resolve in depth, technical issues in Generator technology for customers timely and efficiently.Assure all component designs meet requirements for customers.Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services operations, quality and design engineering to fulfill customer needs.Travel to customer locations to:Support customer technical review meetings and present recommendations to champion GE's commitment to technical solutions.Support unplanned/forced outages to meet availability goals.Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales and services proposal activities.Author knowledge articles as well as customer communications, including: TILs (Technical Information Letter), PSSB (Product Service Safety Bulletin), PSIB (Product Service Information Bulletin), and Safety communications.Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience.Minimum 8 years' experience in an engineering capacity.Minimum 8 years' generator engineering experience or related technology.Working Familiarity with Spanish language.Familiarity with Latin America GEV customer base.Must be willing to travel 10 to 15% domestically and internationally on short notice.Must be willing to work off hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution based on business need.Must be willing to accept a local hiring in intended locations.This is NOT a GME assignment.Desired Characteristics Masters degree in Engineering, preferably electrical, mechanical, materials, or systems engineering, or MBA.Significant generator engineering experience with Legacy GE as well as Legacy Alstom and other OEM.Six Sigma / Lean training experience.Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.Effective problem identification and solution skills.Proven analytical and organizational ability
