Lead Estimator

A growing, successful and well-regarded Metal Fabrication company that designs and produces stairs, guardrails, balconies and light structural steel to the construction industry is seeking an experienced estimator.1. Preparing Takoffs from customer-supplied drawings and blueprints including specification of products and scope of work.2. Estimating Labor Hours and Direct Materials (BOM) and maintaining updated Overhead Rates, in order to accurately price fabricated metal products such as stairs, guardrails and light structural steel.3. Leveraging existing data and recently adopted MRP/ERP system, Global Shop Solutions, to continuously improve bidding accuracy and timing.4. Supporting VE (Value Engineering) efforts to lower costs and improve product appearance and function.**Responsibilities**- Estimate material and labor costs of potential projects- Maintain and evaluate standard rates for company processes- Evaluate completed projects to inform pricing of future projects- Prepare takeoffs of metal fabricated products from architectural drawings- Prepare Scope of Work- Distinguish between domestic and imported raw materials- Acquire understanding of building codes with which products must comply- Track ongoing projects to compare progress vs. original estimates- Adjust standard costs based on actual results- Development an estimating process in the context of existing MRP system**Qualifications**- Estimating experience in metal fabrication or similar industry- Advanced Excel- Global Shop Solutions or similar MRP/ERP experience a plus- Organized, maintain and easily access files and historical data- 4 years plus of experience preferred- Experience with various approaches to costing and estimating- EnglishTipo de puesto: Tiempo completo.Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completoSueldo: A partir de $30,000.00 al mesHorario:- Diurno- Lunes a viernes- Turno de 10 horasPrestaciones:- Caja de ahorro- Opción a contrato indefinido- Uniformes gratuitos- Vales de despensaTipos de compensaciones:- Bono de asistencia- Bono de puntualidadLugar de trabajo: Empleo presencial
