Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
**Job Description**:
**Essential **Functions/Responsibilities***
- Design of instrumented systems (Pressure, temperature, flow, level, valve actuation and positions ).
- Deliver instrumentation Bill of Material and drawings for hardware (thermocouples, pressure transmitters panels, tubing, conduit and cable tray arrangement.) for Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines
- Create review and release wiring diagrams for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbines and their associated accessories/skids as well as for Balance of Plant
- Manage instrument lists and signal lists in the project digital database
- Enhance team culture by facilitating a safe, inclusive, and inspirational workplace
- Strong electrical and instrumentation technical knowledge and ability to perform engineering design for new product programs, new projects, and support of fleet issue resolution
- Drive a culture of one Gas Power team by partnering with adjacent organizations/stakeholders
- Deliver operational commitments and key process indicator targets
- Improve quality, delivery, and cost of GE products within team's scope
- Implement lean methodologies including standard work, standard product, and kaizen
**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Bachelor of Science/Technology in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- 5 years of instrumentation experience
**Desired Characteristics**
- Strong technical expertise and significant design engineering experience in electrical systems and instrumentation and/or controls
- Solid interpersonal skills; Self-motivated
- Proficient with Plant Systems and Steam Cycle processes and tools
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, IECEX NEC, ATEX, etc)
- Customer-centric and team-focused
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Current GE applicants must have a satisfactory performance standing at minimum
