We specialize in gas turbines for the Aviation business serving as a part of GE Aerospace.The Performance discipline has been around since the year 2000, acquiring a level of expertise for the Gas Turbine industry that has no match in México.The LM9000 Performance, Transient and Operability team is a multi-disciplinary team developing state of the art solutions based on thermodynamic modeling and testing of GE's newest aeroderivative product line.The Lead Performance Engineer is responsible to address issues regarding the thermodynamic response of an aircraft engine or aero derivative gas turbine, focused on design, testing, production and field activities and support.**Roles and Responsibilities**- Member of a multi-disciplinary team (Steady State Performance, Transient Performance and Operability) that values curiosity, proactivity, and collaboration, where members of the team need to be learning-oriented and customer-focused.- Provides technical support and analysis on parametric studies regarding the interaction of the different component of the engine.- Is capable of understanding the effect of different ambient conditions and perturbations; of efficiencies and flows, on the overall performance of the engine.- Identify physical effects that cause significant changes in the performance of an Gas Turbine engine.- Is capable of effectively communicate and present investigations and results in forums with highly specialized professionals providing technical recommendations to the customers.- Makes use of statistical tools to provide answers as well as physical interpretation and impact on engine performance.- Looks for creative solutions and constantly finds ways to improve on the quality and response time of his work.- Has the ability of meet short/long term customer needs, while procuring timelines and resources.- Has the ability to mentor others on related field**Requirements and Qualifications**- Aeronautical/Mechanical/Energy engineering Bachelor's degree or MSc degree or PhD plus relevant experience in the area. Experience must be related to gas turbine operations (aircraft or aeroderivative) and associated Performance analysis.- Fluent and effective communication in English and Spanish (written and spoken).- Background or experience on Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics & Statistics.- Problem Solving Skills (Physical phenomena understanding).- Computer Skills - Microsoft Office and one programming language, preferably C++ and/or Python.**Desired Characteristics**- Experience in gas turbine Operability is strongly desirable.- Master or PhD in related field.- Previous experience in Gas Turbines.- Previews experience on Lean and Six Sigma methodology desired (GB Certified)- Experience with NPSS is strongly desirable.- Demonstrate ability in managing projects.- Good Presentation skills- Familiarity and adaptability to GE Aerospace's culture
