Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Lead Planner.
**What you'll do**:
**Primary Function**
This position has responsibility for both hands on planning functions as well as supervising a small group of planners.
Both the lead planner and the planners reporting to him/her will support a single business in Tijuana.
This position is intended to be the first supervisory responsibility for the Lead Planner and is intentionally set up with a small group of planners for which the lead planner is responsible.
The position drives continuous improvement in supply chain while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
**Essential Functions**
A.
Implement planning policies and practices established by the Planning Manager that minimize the total cost of acquisition of materials that support the plant's manufacturing needs.
B.
Balance current and future customer demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
C. Manage the Master Production Schedule in the MRP system for specific customers or product lines to generate requirements for manufactured and purchased parts while ensuring desired inventory levels are maintained
D. Assist the Planning Manager to review new sales order requests and provides a feasible promise date to customer service before the orders are promised
E. Reviews planning parameters in order execution systems to ensure proper order generation.
F. Coordinates with supply Chain, Manufacturing and Customer Service groups to maintain plant-wide production scheduling information
G. Develop and train subordinates to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
H. Develop and train subordinates with appropriate growth experiences to challenge them and to determine their capabilities and interests.

Monitor & report on appropriate planning metrics.
Implement corrective actions where metrics are not meeting expectations.
**Qualifications**:
**Basic qualifications**
- 5 to 7 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Bilingual
- Proven capability to execute planning of manufacturing components in a high mix, low volume environment Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
- Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
- Ability to analyze, identify and implement opportunities and corporate initiatives for improvement
- Ability to lead and coordinate multi discipline, multi-functional teams
- Lead implementation teams to deliver the planning strategies.
- Strong planning/project management skills.
**Preferred Specialized Knowledge**
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes as well as special processes
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma)
- Knowledge of industry specific quality registration schemes (ISO9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100)
