.**Lead Software Engineer**As a **Lead Software Engineer** to help our customer deliver on their vision to create a groundbreaking educational platform for children. They believe a healthy screen-time experience is best solved with curated content and interactivity with the instructor. As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll work on their core product offering, working on major features to move the platform forward and minor experiments to grow their audience. You'll collaborate with the head of engineering and other highly passionate, collaborative, and humble engineers to design, develop and deliver features that make a difference.**Responsibilities**- Design technology solutions against a roadmap of initiatives planned together with product and design - You'll collaborate with product managers and designers to create experiences that delight parents and children.- Develop major platform features from technical plans you own - You have full ownership of the decisions you make and are able to document and communicate these decisions to other current or future members of the team.- Test features in a continuous delivery environment - You own the quality of your code and how it works within a defined user experience.- Respond to customer feedback in an agile framework - You feel a sense of ownership of the product and manage your time working on customer requests and feature improvements.**Qualifications**- 5+ years of experience in software development working on consumer digital products - You've contributed code and architectural improvements across a wide range of scopes.- Experience with accessibility standards, and security compliance measures - We want to build a safe and welcoming experience for all of our parents and children who use our service.- A bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background in software development, such as computer science, programming, informatics, or similar - You've checked the box of getting a baseline understanding of building software. If you don't have a formal degree or certificate, that's ok - equivalent experience is acceptable as well.- Experience with experimentation software and techniques - You know how to tag requests for data analytics, and can build tools to log requests for further analysis.- Strong communication skills - You are required to submit a writing sample that demonstrates your ability to define and argue for a product idea or vision.- Strong engineering sense - You know how to build something right, and you study what makes well-built software.- FE Focused - the functionality is critical but the user experience can make a world of difference, ensuring that the user experience is well represented in our products
