Lead Software Engineer

**About company**:**Job-Description**:**Key Responsibilities**:- Work in a self-directed and self-managed manner- Learn the business domain and produce holistic solutions to business problems- Drive critical phases of Software Engineering work from inception and throughout the CI/CD lifecycle- Evaluate and make sound technical decisions across multiple problem dimensions and articulate decisions throughout the evaluation process- Promote principles of key areas of concern such as availability, scalability, maintainability and security- Actively engage in code reviews with an emphasis on education to improve software quality- Challenge approaches, make reasonable compromises, and recommend solutions to address shortcomings- Actively engage in team ceremonies including Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospective**Job Qualifications**:- A college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or STEM field with a strong understanding of Software Engineering fundamentals- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience in structured team settings- Strong development skills in Java and similar OOP languages along with Spring and databases (Relational and NoSQL)- Strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, data persistence, software and object-oriented design principles- Experience with API and schema versioning techniques- Experience working with DevOps tools such as Gradle and Jenkins- Experience working with Apache Kafka and Avro- Experience working with containerized technologies such Tanzu Application Service (formerly PCF), Docker, and Kubernetes- Proven ability to quickly evaluate and learn unfamiliar processes and tools- Solid understanding of Agile development principles.
