We're looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Job Description – LATAM Legal Associate DirectorResponsibilitiesManage all legal matters arising in LATAM and provide critical input in all litigation matters, including claims before Ethics Committee of the local Trade Association, with focus in Colombia and Mexico.Internal influence and strong leadership on complex legal or business issues that impact Lilly's organization in LATAM, via internal committees' active membership (such as active participation in meetings with local leaders and direct and regular exposure to local Country Managers).Active participation at the local Pricing Committees, providing advice on appropriate commercial strategy and commercial discounts, rebates policy and any pricing changes depending on the product concerned.Lead projects with high risk and high complexity, involving management of budget for a broad area of the business.Provide legal advice and guidance to management and their teams on all matters, taking into consideration internal policy and procedure requirements.Provide strategic and operational advice across all business units on a full range of legal aspects and on complex and strategic business matters, with a particular focus on:Help to gain access for our products at a fair market price.Government Sales – fluid environment in LATAM region.Support the timely and successful launch of new products, the maximization of the marketing for our products and the late life cycle management of products.Advice on rebates, co-pay, risk sharing and other innovative pricing schemes.Review of innovative and complex commercial and marketing programs.Collaborate across the Hub Legal team to ensure One Voice Counseling in line with the Legal Pillars.Advise, from a legal perspective, on the exploitation of critical business opportunities and protect the company's interests showing strong business understanding and acumen.Closely follow and update management teams on new developments in the local laws with potential implications on the business and provide trainings on legal areas as necessary.Lead projects to strengthen governance and internal controls.Instruct and manage Outside Counsel Network by effective cost management/tracking and quality control.Partner with and foster a culture of Ethics and Compliance.Advise the business on internal and external complaints, investigations, and challenges in the areas of anti-trust, fraud/corruption, product liability, products exclusivity and minimize their impact on daily operations.Monitor, identify, interpret, and timely communicate to business partners and to supervisor relevant changes in the law, and provide training on legal areas as necessary.Make decisions that impact a range of processes and projects, by being an influent team member whose technical advice is highly valued.Anticipate and resolve complex matters in specific areas of accountability.Advise on, draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements relating to the company's business.Leading complex negotiations.Job Requirements:10+ yrs experience as an attorney.Proven record counseling directly in Mexico and one or more major markets in LATAM.Experience managing complex legal problems for corporate clients.Prior experience as in-house counsel/in the life science sector.Ability to navigate cross-cultural contexts.Fluency in English.Skills:Capable of working independently but committed to teamwork and collaboration with team members, other lawyers, and members of management.Analytical skills.Strong business acumen.Strong prioritization ability.Ability to strategize and oversee implementation of strategies.Sound judgment and issue spotting ability.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapt to a changing environment.
