At iCodde, we are looking for an
**In-House Legal Counsel** to join a large luxury brand company in Mexico City.
**Objectives**:
- Ensure company's activities comply with local laws and to support the Legal Department with regard to Mexican projects
- Draft / review /negotiate company's contracts
- Provide legal advice / training to various brands /divisions of the company
- Represent the company in defined legal proceedings
**Functions**:
- Represent the Company's interests in court proceedings, before local authorities, associations and commissions as well as in negotiations vis-à-vis clients and suppliers
- Provide advice to the Company in all legal matters (Retail, Sales, e-Commerce, Marketing, Human Resources, and Procurement)
- Draft prepare, review and negotiate legal documents and contracts for the Company's day-to-day operation
- Assist in the settlement of legal cases through negotiation and conclusion of settlement agreements
- Contract management
- Draft Company resolutions under the guidance of the Legal Department of the Company
- Follow up and supervise contractual terms, filing deadlines, and due dates
- Monitor and keep local management and HQ Legal Department informed about relevant legal developments
- Ensure the protection of the intellectual property rights of group companies in coordination with the Legal Department
- Ensure implementation of and compliance with applicable statutory requirements, incl. fair trade law, competition law, consumer protection law, quality management, and data protection
- Ensure implementation of and compliance with policies and directives issued by the Company and the internal control system
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor´s Degree in Law; admitted to the Bar
- Experience **4 - 5 years** in a law firm or a multi-national company as in-house counsel
- A strong knowledge of commercial contract law including drafting and reviewing distribution agreements and consumer protection law
- Employment Law Experience
- Experience in negotiating retail leases
- Experience in intellectual property rights, competition, and data protection law
- High Level of planning and organizational skills, great ability to meet tight deadlines
