The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and assisting in payroll processing including commission and bonus calculations.
This role supports the accounting department with daily operational tasks and assists in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a foundational understanding of accounting principles.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.Prepare and process group commissions and support payroll for U.S. employees and contractors.Manage sales tax filings, state compliance, and other U.S. administrative tasks.Assist in handling contractor timesheets, payments, and client billing.Collaborate on process improvements to enhance financial operations.Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.Maintain and organise financial files and records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.QualificationsEducation and Experience:2 years but ideally slightly more of relevant accounting experience in the USA, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a professional accounting qualification is preferred.Technical Skills:Proficiency with accounting software.Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and standard accounting practices.Fluency in English.Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Proactive and willing to take on additional tasks as needed.#J-18808-Ljbffr
