**Job Description Summary**: The Sub-Section Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs associated with Life Limited Parts lifing. In this role you are responsible for program execution, resource management, business connectivity, and nurturing the technical and professional growth of the team. You will utilize your technical and leadership skills to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and impact short-term and long-term business goals.
**Essential Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel.
- Lead the team on the execution of Life Management projects to support design efforts, durability improvements, manufacturing support, field issues, certifications, life extensions/updates & CIP projects.
- Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs.
- Partner with GEIQ EMS Section Manager, DB21 CCE and global life management Sub-Section Managers to define the strategy of the discipline, share resources and communicate lessons learned.
- Manage a team of 13 engineers including CTHs & Staff Engineers, providing technical mentoring and career guidance.
- Ensure project execution per agreed commitment with FTY=1 within budget and schedule.
- Own HR processes such as Priorities, Checkpoints, Talent Reviews, Performance Management, Career Growth for the team.
- Remain cognizant of state-of-the-art technologies in the Life Management arena and promote the participation of the team in the Design Board.
- Use your judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems related to operational activities, strategy, and product management.
- Drive a culture of compliance, integrity, open reporting, and psychological safety.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Life Management or in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment.
- Hands-On experience in various life methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams.
- Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a global environment.
- Experienced leading in a highly matrixed environment.
