Tasks**Activities**:- The engineer will develop, test and maintain software under Linux environments mostly in C.- Resolution of software issues and support in integration activities for Linux features.- Define & write requirements for development features.- Break down user and technical stories into smaller tasks. Provide accurate estimates for task completion time- Perform activities related to the software development cycle: static code analysis, unit testing & follow stablished guidelines to continuous integration/test activities.- Understand behavior of legacy code in order to troubleshoot bugs or extend features.**Qualifications**:- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four year college or university in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.- Good knowledge of C/C++ programming language, knowledge in scripting languages is highly desirable (Shell, Bash, Python).- Ability to analyze and understand an existing codebase and use that knowledge to troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve issues.- Solid verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish).- Knowledge of microcontrollers and microprocessors architecture (ARM architecture experience highly desired).- It is desirable to have awareness and/or knowledge in best practices for software development, including Agile methodologies, use of tools for issue tracking, documentation, static code analysis, and unit testing- Awareness/experience in the usage of Linux systems at user level is desirable.About usContinental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods.
