To provide field operations/maintenance work for field vehicle fleet and Ground Support Equipment which require preventive maintenance, troubleshooting repairs and/or modifications.Repairs, modifies, and performs preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots field vehicle fleet and ground equipment. Diagnoses source of trouble, disassembles equipment, and performs repairs. Makes necessary adjustments in machinery for safe and efficient operation. Completes required paperwork for each assignment including VURR, VAGIS and FAMIS documentation. Maintains a clean, safe work area in accordance with corporate/OSHA standards. Provides assistance, guidance and direction to technicians and technicians trainees as needed. Assumes primary responsibility for completion of project work. Ensures maintenance related materials are maintained at approved inventory levels. Interfaces with customer (FedEx employees) and vendors regarding vehicle and equipment repairs. Interfaces with US suppliers, and FedEx corporate vehicle and GSE departments.Minimum Qualifications:Six (6) years recent fleet, automotive, heavy equipment, or truck vehicle maintenance experience and applicable licenses/vocational training.Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing equipment, gauges, and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repair of industrial hydraulic, gasoline, electrical and diesel automotive equipment.Ability to work without supervision for extended time periods.Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle industrial components.Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting preferred.Must possess a valid driver's license.Fluent in English language is required.FedEx is widely acknowledged as a world-class company.
