Job Description • Facilitation and management of qualified supplier contract negotiations• Develop, maintain, and administer bid solicitations and request for quote (RFQ) documents• Monitor contract milestones to ensure suppliers' schedule performance meets the requirements• Assist Supply Chain Manager in the development of sales proposals for customers including complete due diligence, internal cost breakdown (parts, labor, overhead etc.
), & profit factoring that results in a written sales proposal with complete terms and conditions to customers• Issue purchase orders and follow up with vendors as required• Build successful, professional working relationships with suppliers• Negotiate/implement contract terms and cost reductions for purchased materials and subcontracted processes• Attend program milestone meetings (i.e.
ITCM, PDR,CDR)• Serve as main point of contact for all supplier activity through duration of contract• Additional duties as assigned by manager• Exceptions report for products purchased• Order parts from Order action from ERP system based on contract requirements.
Complementary Description The Program Purchasing Buyer ensures that material is ordered per procedure, delivered on time, received within specifications, and within budget.
They will be expected to maintain a consistent line of communication open with Program Management, to keep up to date on program specific details, such as requirements, schedule, budget, etc.
Responsibility also includes providing input to Proposal Team, negotiation and management of supplier contracts, and contract award.
This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Job Requirements Education: • High School diploma required/ Associates or Bachelor's degree in an applicable field preferred.
Experience:• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Buyer or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, preferably in Aerospace Industry• Experience procuring a broad range of commodities• Familiarity with contract language and basic understanding of corporate legal terms• Comfortable working productively with all levels of corporate structure.
Primarily, but not limited to Program Management and Engineering Computer Skills: • MRP system experience• MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint) Other Skills:• Fluency in English language is required.• Communication skills at all levels, including the ability to summarize and simplify complex subjects• Understanding of technical environments and customer's expectations• Technical understanding of landing gear and manufacturing processes• Ability to read and analyze engineering prints• Team player• Analytical, synthetically minded and rigorous• Strongly organized with a results oriented personality• Tenacity and perseverance• Strong relationship builder
