About The Role - _**Logistics & Distribution Coordinator**_
Manage coordination of logistics and distribution activities, ensuring best practices in road transportations to minimize safety and security risks, lower costs and reduce lead time in supply. The role will work closely with the Business Management, Supply Chain, SHE's, Transport Carriers and Manufacturing teams.
**What you will be doing**
Support the safety check point audit program to validate 3rd party carriers' safety record.
Successfully update the monthly contracted rates for all rail and truck transport as well as the fuel surcharges.
Integrate critical management tools to challenge 3rd party carriers freight rates and accessorial charges.
Ensure compliance with regulations for services delivered to Orica customers.
Help coordinate market intelligence and knowledge to establish industry-leading practices for safety improvements.
Work with team to find improved efficiency and productivity of logistics and distribution operations and processes.
Execute the monthly plan working with Manufacturing teams, downstream businesses, and third parties.
Supports delivery of Regional Supply Chain Strategy and Breakaway saving initiatives
Support and prepare for the safety carrier conference every 18 months.
**What you will bring**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; ideally in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a business
- related field
Advanced English level/ Outstanding communication skills
Advanced Excel/Microsoft Skills
SAP Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation and warehouse operations
Experience developing and implementing product delivery strategies for more than one country and for more than one transportation mode.
Demonstrated skills associated with building vendor relationships.
Preferred:
Experience with dangerous goods freight and trucking is mandatory - Working knowledge of regulations relating to transportation for dangerous goods and distribution operations, coupled with experience with a variety of logistics sourcing strategies.
Pay: $20,000.00 - $22,000.00 per month
